Shifting time. August 29, 2006

We’re all competing for something these days, may it be wealth, or fame, or maybe even that new touchscreen iPod that’s gonna come out next year; everyone’s a bit different, but lodged in in the back of our brains (the whole 1.3 kilograms of it) we’re all secretly competing for more time and we do this unconciously. We all try to earn more while working less. Whoever has the most work-unrelated spare time wins.
It’s a lazy world out there… ![]()

Burrard Street Bridge is one of the oldest bridges in Vancouver and is also one of the nicest as it was built upon the Art Deco style (huge contrast to the other steel and concrete bridges leading to the downtown core) It’s also my other favourite bridge in Vancouver (the other one being Alex Fraser. muwahaha.

Here’s a pic of one of Vancouver’s historic Interurban trains. I love these trains, when you ride ‘em it feels like they’re going at super lightning fast speeds (which is like wicked cool) though thery’re really just chugging at some 50 km/h. (that’s like 30 mph for all you fellow imperial peeps.:P)

When the rain comes down. August 21, 2006

Rain
If the rain comes they run and hide their heads.
They might as well be dead.
If the rain comes, if the rain comes.
When the sun shines they slip into the shade
And sip their lemonade.
When the sun shines, when the sun shines.
Rain, I don’t mind.
Shine, the weather’s fine.
I can show you that when it starts to rain,
Everything’s the same.
I can show you, I can show you.
Rain, I don’t mind.
Shine, the weather’s fine.
Can you hear me, that when it rains and shines,
It’s just a state of mind?
Can you hear me, can you hear me?
If the rain comes they run and hide their heads.

Duncan, B.C. (City of Totems)
Drifting through the sea of boredom, I took a ferry to Vancouver Island and drove to Duncan, which is a pretty nice little town dubbed the “City of Totems” respectively, with it containing some 80+ totems or so carved by the local native artists. The city also has the “World’s Widest Totem Pole” which in my opinion, was wide but kinda short, but still, it was pretty cool. This is an owl I think.. or maybe it’s an eagle.. I’m not too sure.
