Hey there and welcome to Blueberry Woods!

I’m Robert Zhu and this ish my photoblog. I currently reside in the suburbs of Vancouver, BC. The alluring scenery here plus the cool summer breezes all make up for the 350.5 days of pouring rain. Heck, it’s the most beautiful city I’ve ever lived in, full of hidden scenic treasures and shutter moments.
I take photos for fun and hope to travel the world someday with my camera, my lenses, and my imagination.
I’ve always wanted to start a photoblog but ne’er had the time. During the summer of ‘06, I was struck without a job and plenty of spare time, thus, Blueberry Woods was born.

Why “blueberries”?

Hmm… well, it all started one sunny afternoon… I was in my kitchen, still pondering over the idea of starting a weblog… I opened the fridge… and then it hit me. Literally. The last thing I remember was the silhouette of assorted fruits shooting out of my Whirlpool GX8000L then hitting my head… then blackness… wow. I woke up to find a huge salad-like mess on my hardwood floor, a huge bump on my head and a huge hydro bill. I looked around, everything had come down… the broccoli, the lettuce, the fish, the lilydale chicken and the blueberries… wait… and the BLUEBERRIES?! But of course! So I’ll dedicate my blog to my favourite sweet-tasting, fibre-containing, cancer-fighting fruit!

Okay, so that didn’t really happen, but heck, “blueberry” is still one of the coolest words in the dictionary…
